Penny Lane Striders - Who We Are?

Penny Lane Striders is one of Liverpool's largest and most well-established running clubs, with over 300 members. We are affiliated both to England Athletics and the Association of Running Clubs.

How fast, how far or how well you can run doesn't matter because everybody - whatever their ability - is an equally valued member of the club. We all strive to be better runners, but there is no pressure and no elitism.

Training sessions to suit all abilities

Whether you are looking to improve your fitness, beat your 10k personal best or even embarking on your first ever marathon, our training groups are designed to help you to achieve your goals.

Our Charity Partner

South Liverpool Foodbank

We are delighted to announce that our charity partners are the South Liverpool foodbank. Based at Heath Road, close to many of our training routes, this charity provides nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to them in crisis. They are also part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK. In the UK, 1 in 5 people live below the poverty line and South Liverpool foodbank fed over 10,000 people in crisis last year alone.

How are Penny Lane Striders supporting South Liverpool foodbank?

During the year, we will support this charity by collecting donations during our running and social events and encouraging members to consider supporting them during sponsored runs. Once a month we will collect donations of food or money, reminding members via Facebook and the Forum as well as in person at all club sessions.

How can you help?

Look out for notifications from Committee members on how to donate. You can find a list of the items they are in need of here: https://southliverpool.foodbank.org.uk/give-help/donate-food/ . And, it's not just food, they are also keen to receive toiletry items as well as financial contributions and volunteering.
